Friends of Langley Hall Arts Academy
Sir Christopher BallSir Christopher Ball has supported Langley Hall Primary Academy since 2010 and also the subsequent educational establishments set up, independently of but in collaboration with, the LHPA Trust. He was Chair of Governors of LHPA between 2015 and 2018 and worked tirelessly on developing the schools projects and ambitions. He has been a trusted advisor, mentor and friend to the staff working at the educational establishments associated with LHPA and all of the pupils who attend the various schools who collaborate together to provide their unique, creative, artistic educational programme. He remains our lifetime friend and confidant and we will be forever grateful to him for his support .
Martyn Brabbins - LHAA Music PatronBritish Conductor Martyn Brabbins is the Music Director of the English National Opera, Professor of Conducting at the Royal College of Music and Associate Principal Conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
Martin Brabbins, who the school's main performance space is named after, attended our Symphony House Opening Ceremony in 2022 where he spoke about the importance of providing a good music education to all children, and how impressed he was with the pupils and facilities at LHPA and Symphony House. He also admitted to being reduced to tears by the LHPA Year 5 & 6 choir’s performance whose moving and emotional performance was an impressive showcase of the musical talent at the school – the children’s enjoyment shone through.
Martin Brabbins also presented the pupils of the newly opened Langley Hall Arts Academy Secondary School with a special award for being the very first pupils of the school.
We are very honoured to have such an association with Martyn, and to have such a prestigious Music Patron for our school.
